So they came up with the idea of creating their own crypto platform. Together, they built Bitplaats, a cryptocurrency exchange with a strong emphasis on service. In 2014, the founders decided to change the name of their platform to Anycoin Direct, with the intention of expanding the market to the rest of Europe. This was a hit. Although Anycoin Direct is deeply rooted in the Netherlands and has achieved success across Europe, it has not yet reached the top spot when it comes to the number of users in the Netherlands. To change this, the company has formed strategic partnerships with PSV and Heroes Den Bosch. Sports marketing has proven for years to be an effective method of increasing brand awareness. As one of the biggest Dutch football clubs, PSV has a broad target audience. Anycoin Direct took advantage of this by being visible at matches. But visibility alone won't get you there. Heroes Den Bosch partnership
Anycoin Direct has been an official premium partner of Heroes Den Bosch since the 2021-2022 season. The Veghel-based cryptobroker paid out the sponsorship amount in Bitcoin. That made Heroes the first basketball team in Europe with such a unique deal. Fans of Heroes Den Bosch will see Anycoin Direct in various places during and around the club's games. For instance, the cryptobroker's logo appears on the official match shorts of both the away and home jerseys and the presence of Anycoin Direct makes the crowd cheer extra loud on three-pointers.
