Main role for Juan Manuel Correa in international campaign

In line with the 'Invincible in Detail' campaign, Invicta and Capital Advertising travelled to Le Castellet in France in the summer of 2022, where they brought together a team of almost 20 people at the Paul Ricard race circuit. Among them was Formula 2 driver Juan Manuel Correa, who wore some unique racing watches as an Invicta ambassador. Over two days of filming, we captured plenty of great moments, in photo and video.

Invincible
The word 'invincible' fits Juan Manuel Correa's description perfectly. The life of this driver from Ecuador resembles a boyhood dream: he achieves championships in karting in his home country and the US, makes a remarkable advance into Formula 4, GP3 and achieves podium finishes during his first year in Formula 2 in 2019, bringing him closer to the highest racing class.

But then things go completely wrong. During the Formula 2 race at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, Juan Manuel gets involved in a serious accident. His fellow driver Anthoine Hubert dies from his injuries, while Correa breaks both legs and suffers a spinal injury. He ends up in a coma and his recovery is an extraordinary achievement, after multiple operations and months of rehabilitation. He returns to Formula 3 as early as 2021 and Formula 2 in 2023. His unwavering fight and perseverance show that he is not giving up easily.

Photoshoot in France
For the campaign, Invicta approached Capital Advertising. At the Circuit Paul Ricard in Le Castellet, known for its distinctive red and blue stripes, a team of 20 people shot images for an international campaign. An activation game was also developed. It allows people to test their responsiveness by racing on a busy circuit. The longer you can dodge other cars, the higher your score. The aim is to generate leads and provide information about the different racing watches to game participants.

It is with projects like this that we at Capital Advertising realise how special it is that, as a marketing agency from 's-Hertogenbosch, we get to work for an international brand like Invicta. The beautiful images we captured are shared worldwide on television in the US and Europe, on Invicta and Juan Manuel Correa's social media, in all Invicta shops and even in Times Square in New York.
